Did you know your hair needs sun protection just like your skin?
Summer. The days are wonderfully long, and our energy is higher. Everyone is outside enjoying themselves and is more in the mood for a party, drinks on a terrace, or a fun festival. We swim in the sea or the swimming pool. We go on holiday and style our hair nicely. All wonderful, but these circumstances often leave you with stiff and dry hair. How can you prevent or remedy this? We give 8 essential tips!
- Can't wait to jump into the pool as soon as you arrive at your destination? Wait a moment and first wet your hair. If your hair is already saturated with regular water, it can hardly absorb any more chlorinated water. Also, always rinse your hair after swimming.
- Before enjoying the sun, think about an SPF or UV filter for your hair. This is just as important as good sunscreen for your skin!
- Did you swim and is your hair terribly tangled? Then spray some leave-in conditioner into your hair before brushing it. This conditioner, among other things, makes your hair more elastic and therefore less prone to breakage.
- Beautiful, soft hair needs moisture, so drink plenty! And we don't just mean cocktails 😊. Try to drink 1.5 liters of water per day.
- Wear a fashionable hat, scarf, or cap. Not only does it look good, but it protects your scalp and hair from the sun and reduces the chance of sunstroke.
- Don't make your braid too tight. This can damage your hair and hair roots. Also, remember not to use a metal elastic band.
- Has your hair become frizzy anyway, and do you need a quick, nourishing solution? Use a serum. This penetrates deep into the hair, making it wonderfully soft.
- If your hair is (already) incredibly dry, apply a nourishing mask and feel free to leave it on overnight.
Have a happy summer!
