Fix Your Hat Hair: Tips

Revive your flat hair in no time.

Winter and hats go hand in hand: wonderfully warm, cozy, and stylish. But there's one downside almost everyone experiences: hat hair. Your hair gets flattened, static, or just doesn't look the way you want it to once you take your hat off. Luckily, there are clever ways to protect your hairstyle and still look good after wearing a hat.

1. Choose the right hat

Not every hat is equally kind to your hair.

  • Cotton or silk lining: Opt for a hat with a smooth lining (silk or satin is ideal). This prevents friction, frizz, and static hair.

  • Not too tight: A hat that's too tight will flatten your hair. Choose a slightly looser beanie or a style that allows some room at the top.

2. Style smart BEFORE putting on your hat

  • Avoid too much volume on top: Hair that is highly teased or contains a lot of mousse will definitely get flat. Focus on the lengths instead.

  • Go for braids or a low ponytail: Braids or a low ponytail/bun are practical and will still look good after you take off your hat.

3. Hat off? Fix it quickly!

  • Styling Boost to the rescue: Apply some volume powder to your hair roots to bring back volume.

  • Comb with your fingers: Instead of a brush (which can create static), simply run your fingers through your hair.
