TRENDY WRAPPING TECHNIQUES FOR PERMS

Curls are in! They give your hair a playful look and add volume and body. It's funny how people with natural curls sometimes prefer straight hair, while those with straight hair crave curls. Well, that's achievable, and we're going to discuss it extensively in this blog! Because if you've decided you want a perm, what kind of curl do you want? Loose and casual, a finer and more defined curl, corkscrew curls, a uniform curl, or a stronger curl at the ends—it's all possible if you use the right rods and technique!

Body Wave

Soft waves that give your hair a lot of body. Ideal for finer hair that could use some volume! A body wave perm provides a casual, loose curl and texture. This makes your hair easy to style (and restyle) and looks wonderfully full. The body wave is created using larger rods. The suitable liquid for this is Volume Lotion, ideal for at least 2 months of natural support while maintaining the hair's natural shine.

Beach Wave

The beach wave perm is very similar to the body wave perm, but for a beach wave, you use a slightly smaller rod. This results in a finer curl and more texture in your hair, a bit more noticeable than with the body wave perm.

A beach wave looks best on layered hair. Your curls will then be beautifully distributed throughout your hair, not just concentrated at the ends. For the beach wave as well, it's best to choose Calmare Volume Lotion.

Spiral Perms

A vertically applied perm, tightly wrapped with spiral rods. Result: an intensely curled look, corkscrew-shaped curls with a lot of volume. To create a beautiful natural look, you can use a few different sizes of rods. Spiral perms, unlike most perms, are rolled vertically. Because you need extra power in your liquid, you should preferably opt for a classic perming liquid, Neutral Wave Lotion. Depending on the condition and structure of the hair, you choose N1 (normal hair), P2 (colored or porous hair) or F0 (coarse and unruly hair).

Multi-textured perm

...the perfect way to perm for natural curls. We already mentioned this with the spiral perm, but you can, of course, also apply this technique with regular straight rods. By using 2 different sizes, you get diversity in curls that fall beautifully over and around each other. It is important that the hair is long enough; this technique does not work well on medium-length hair.

Partial perm

Partial perms in a section of the hair instead of all-over. You can opt for a root perm, a perm only at the hair roots for extra volume, for curls only at the ends for a bit more texture, or to create a more homogeneous hair texture in sections of the hair (spot perm). A partial perm on boys, in the longer lengths on top, is very trendy right now.

Partitial Permanent

For both multi-textured and partial perms, you also use one of the Neutral Wave Lotions.
